The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Alvin MacKinnon can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

growing up with the MacKinnons

Hello, I met the MacKinnon family at the Brantford Airport where we grew up as kids from 1945-1952. We then moved to Brantford where i went to B.C.I. with Neil. While living at the Airport we would spend our summers at Rest Acres Pool and camp ground. On Saturdays we would bike into Brantford to pick up Russel's pay from the Dominion Furniture Store on Colborne St. We often went to the Saturday mattine at the Esquire Theatre. Neil was always the Joker in the group. During our brief high school years Neil and I were in the same class. One high school book had us in 9N home room. Neil would often get me lauhing in class and consequentally I was the one who got in trouble. Wayne was my Best Man at my wedding in 1958. I have many memories of the Mackinnon's and I tell my kids that I had the best years of my youth at the Airport with the Mackinnons
