Obituary for John Paul Kotlar

KOTLAR John

Passed away at home March 16th 2017 in his 79th year. Loved husband to Joan Kotlar. Dear father to Jason Kotlar (Amanda) from Cornwall P.E.I. Dear stepfather to Rick Arsenault (Trudy) Sandi and Judi Legacy. John is survived by his brother Joe Kotlar (Myrna), his brother-in-law Jack Harker (the late Reta). His brother-in-law Ted Jewer (the late Peggy). John is also survived by Joan’s step-siblings, Marilyn and Jon, Marylou, Linda and Donnie, Herbert, Heather and David. He will always be remembered by his grandchildren as poppa John. John is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his father and mother, Joseph and Theresa Kotlar and by his infant sister Irene. John retired from the C.N.R in 1995 after 32 years of service, first as a brakeman for 10 years, then as a engineer for 22 years but John was always a farmer at heart, and worked along side his father and mother on their dairy farm, in the barn and in the fields. His love for tractors was with him to the end. Rest in Peace. One of John’s favorite sayings was “Look out for the other guy.” Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Wednesday, March 22nd 2017 at 1:00 PM with service to follow in the chapel at 2:00 PM. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery. Memorial donations to St Joseph Life Care Foundation would be appreciated. www.dennistoll.ca
