Obituary for Gordon Ernest Osmond

Passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home as the result of a brain aneurysm. Beloved Husband of Bonnie Etherington for 35 years. Loving Dad of Teri (Greg) and Kevan (Acca). Proud new Papa of Rory. Gord will be deeply missed by his mom Mary, sister Marilyn (Brian), and his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Gordon Sr. Fondly remembered by many extended family and friends. Gord spent a couple of years building log houses in BC and Ontario. He then returned to Brantford where he taught grade 8 for over 30 years. In his retirement he started the Over 60 Baseball League and could be found curling at the Brantford Curling Club, golfing, or at his cottage on Ahmic Lake. Gord was an avid hockey player (always #49) and lifelong fan of the Detroit Red Wings. He was an active member and past President of the Brantford RTO. Gord was passionate about history and politics and enjoyed travelling, especially within Canada. He was incredibly proud of his children and their accomplishments and thrilled to become a grandfather this past fall. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the DENNIS TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford from 5-8 p.m. A Celebration of Gord’s Life will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. in the chapel. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arnold Anderson Sport Fund (www.arnoldandersonsportfund.com).
